GWnext 2024

March 4th (Monday) to 8th (Friday), 2024

@Kavli Institute for Astronomy and Astrophysics (PKU)

    Beijing (China)

Overview

GWnext is a series of meetings on gravitational wave physics from young researchers for young researchers. The first meeting was held online in January 2022. This is the second edition of the meeting held in Beijing in March 2024.

The goal of the meeting is to bring (mainly but not only young) researchers together to work out the most important questions in gravitational wave physics that need to be tackled in the coming years. The meeting will last five days with three (core) days dedicated to introductory talks and guided discussions. Every day will be dedicated to one of the main fields in gravitational wave physics: gravitational wave theory, astrophysics, and detection.

For organizational reasons, we only can accept a restricted number of participants on a first-come first-served basis. When registering, you will be asked to submit two questions for the discussion sessionsREGISTER HERE!

There will be a poster session where students and postdocs can present their work on the third day of the meeting (Wednesday). Participants will be asked to vote for their favorite posters and the best three posters will get prices on the last day of the meeting (Friday).

Based on the discussions held during the meeting, we will write a conference white paper summarizing the results. All participants are welcome to contribute and sign the white paper.

We will have an "unofficial dinner" on Monday. We will go to a restaurant/bar near PKU so that people can interact and socialize before the regular meeting starts -- everyone is welcome and no registration is required but you will need to pay for your expenses. Moreover, there will be a conference dinner after the poster session on Wednesday -- please register for the dinner when registering for the meeting.
